Central Texas hosts many interesting model railroads. Some are very large, established, fully scenic layouts while others are fairly new works in progress. There’s something for everyone and always something to learn and admire.

28 layouts are scheduled to be open during the convention – they are listed below. Three others will not be open for the tour but will be hosting operating sessions.

All layouts listed will be open for viewing at different times on Saturday and Sunday. Each layout will have its own open hours.

Three layouts will be on-site at the hotel:

  • The Austin Model Railway Society HO scale modular layout depicting the Austin area from the middle of the 20th century will be running and will host an operating session
  • The LSR Cen-Tex Division’s South Plains switching layout (originally built by David Barrow) will be open for walk-up operations
  • AustiNTrak will have their N scale T-TRAK modular layout set up and running

And speaking of operations, a number of the railroads on tour will also be hosting operating sessions on Thursday and Friday (plus a couple on Sunday after the convention). Plenty of model railroading to go around!
