There are a number of great non-rail activities planned, both on- and off-site.

Starting Thursday evening, we’ll have our traditional Meet and Greet. Enjoy cookies and refreshments and say hello to friends you might not have seen in a while.

Thursday evening we’ll also make some easy costume jewelry.

On Friday morning we’ll be going on a self-drive tour of Austin. The plan is to tour the Texas State Capitol (free), followed by a Lake Austin boat cruise ($39) and a visit to the Museum of Illusions – Austin ($38). There is so much to see and do in Austin, so feel free to break into groups and explore. (See the great list of Austin attractions and nearby restaurants and stores.)

By popular demand, Friday night will feature a great game of Bingo. Everyone is welcome, but come early since space is limited.

Saturday morning we’ll continue working on our costume jewelry and will also make some seasonal wire wreaths with deco mesh, like the ones shown here. And of course, Saturday evening is the social hour and the banquet.

Also – don’t forget the Arts & Crafts Contest (you can’t win if you don’t enter). This year’s theme is “Connections.”
