Layout Tours

Central Texas hosts many interesting model railroads. Some are very large, established, fully scenic layouts while others are fairly new works in progress. There’s something for everyone and always something to learn and admire.

All layouts listed will be open for viewing at different times and dates, primarily Saturday and Sunday after the convention. (Each layout will have its own open hours.)

In addition to these fine layouts, the Austin Model Railway Society HO scale club layout will be assembled and operate at the hotel, and the Cen-Tex Division will have their South Plains switching layout (originally built by David Barrow) at the hotel for self-service operations.

And if you’re interested in operations, a number of these railroads will also be hosting operating sessions on Thursday and Friday (plus a couple on Sunday after the convention). Plenty of model railroads to go around!
