The prototype Jay Street Connecting Railroad was built by John Arbuckle to serve his buildings and nearby businesses in 1904 Brooklyn, NY. This busy terminal railroad’s only connection to the outside rail network was by barge.

David captures the operating complexity of this railroad in his layout, as three operators receive incoming freight from barges, sort, and deliver it to one of 50 spots, while picking up outgoing cars.

David shares how he operates this unique layout of the Jay Street Connecting Railroad as it existed in the 1910s in Brooklyn, NY.

To find out how David filled his layout with rolling stock, you’ll want to attend his clinic on Making Wood Boxcars from the 1910 Era on Friday at 9:30 am.
