Chuck has had the privilege to work and learn from some of the masters in this great hobby. He shares some of his learning process and how he used these ideas to scenic his railroad. He models the West Side Lumber Company and the Sierra Railroad located in California’s Sierra mountains during the 1930’s when logging was king. He will share the expansion of his O Scale/On3 logging layout into a new area of his train room.
See his process of creating mountain scenery, trees and finally the detailing the scene.
About the Presenter
Chuck started with a Lionel train set he received from his dad. It expanded each year until third-grade, when he met the late Bruce Nelson, who became his lifelong train buddy. He modeled in HO and Chuck couldn’t get over how real Bruce’s trains looked compared to his Lionel layout so he sold it and made the move to HO. That same year with no Lionel to give me for Christmas, his mother gave Chuck the book “Short Line to Paradise” about the Yosemite Valley Railroad which fueled his love of California Logging. In 1992 Chuck changed wives and scales, to On3, both of which have worked out very well.
